Mountain View at Rocky Mountain Game Recap

Mountain View jumped out to a 16-10 first quarter lead and never looked back. By the end of the third quarter they had built a 20 point lead, the same as the last time they played. The Mavericks brought a balanced attack and had a great night shooting. The biggest positive for Mountain View was that despite Tyson Percifield having a very average night scoring, they showed that it really isn’t a one man show. Brock Rule had 9 points in the first half, Tanner Percifield was shooting well and finding Brandon Luedtke in the post a lot.

For Rocky Mountain, they were able to generate some decent looks inside, either through cuts to the basket or dribble drive. The problem is that they struggled to finish the shots. Ryan Skurdal shot the ball better this game. If he can get it going and they can start to finish shots inside, teams will be forced to play more man to man defense. Until then, opposition will likely pack the defense into the key and force them to score from the outside.
