Bruneel and the national title trophy

Mitch Bruneel and Colby Blaine have more in common than just Idaho Select. Bruneel, a freshman forward from Eagle, and Blaine, an assistant coach from Boise, teamed up this past season at the College of Southern Idaho. Last night the Golden Eagles finished their season with a win over Midland (Texas) College, capturing the NJCAA national title.

Bruneel, who started 33 games for the Golden Eagles, averaged 10.1 points & 5.2 rebounds this season and was selected to the national all-tournament team, played for Idaho Select in 2007 and 2008. He was named the Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year in 2008.

Blaine has been an assistant for CSI the past two seasons. He has been an Idaho Select coach since 2010 and is also one of Idaho Select’s camp directors.
