The 4A and 3A pre-season voting for Player of the Year is over and your winners are in.
From the 4A, Madison’s Ryker Pierce (class of 2012) came in at the top but it was a close battle between Pierce, Bonneville’s Jared Stutzman (2nd place, class of 2014), Jerome’s Jake Hollifield (3rd place, class of 2012) and Shelley’s McKay Cannon (4th place, class of 2013).
Pierce was a major contributor to Madison’s state title run last year. At the state tournament he averaged 15.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in three games.
In the 3A classification, Weiser’s Drew McKie was the top vote getter, beating out Wyatt Johnson from Teton. McKie was a beast on the boards at last year’s state tournament, helping his team all the way to the title game where they were beating by rival Fruitland.
