At Borah High School, both Borah and Timberline came out behind the hot shooting of individuals. Cody Spjute for Borah and Jarid Downey for Timberline both had 3 3-pointers each in the first quarter, accounting for all but four of the team’s combined points. Downey would go on to hit 6 of them in the game.
Timberline maintained a lead through the first half and through the third quarter. But as the fourth quarter got underway, Borah was ready for their run.
The Lions started finding big man Brock Holubetz inside for some easy buckets. Then Isaiah Wright got it going. He hit a couple of three pointers. Then converted on multiple 3 point plays. Before you could check the scoreboard, Borah was up 5 with under 2 minutes to go. From there is was a matter of breaking the Timberline press and knocking down free throws. Borah got the win 63-54 to stay atop of the 5A Southern Idaho Conference.
