Patriots play bonus ball against the Braves

In an important match up between two top teams in the boys 5A SIC, Centennial and Boise were in a defensive battle Tuesday night. Both teams will be in the district tournament but the winner would take a substantial leap forward.

After four full quarters, the teams were tied at 35 points. And despite it being senior night for the Patriots, it was a junior that would ultimately make the difference in overtime.

Daryl Robertson, on a baseline out of bounds play, would miss his first shot but rip the offensive rebound and finish the And-1 to give Centennial the win.

The win puts Centennial in great position to wrap up the #2 seed this Thursday.

Even though Boise took the loss, they are playing great ball to finish up the regular season. The progression over the last year has been impressive. The little things are making a difference. They set great screens and make the extra pass. They mix up their defenses, keeping the opposition guessing.

The regular-season wraps up this Thursday. This is one of the better finishes the SIC has had from top to bottom. The district tournament is going to be fun.
