Here are some big updates for the top 17U Idaho Select club basketball team. There have been important events that have happened over the past couple of months. The information below should get you up to speed.

Anthony Davis Select
Thanks to the generosity of Anthony Davis, this year our top team will feature new Nike jerseys with the team name Anthony Davis Select on the front and the Idaho Select shield on the back. The jerseys are the same style that the University of Kentucky wears, which is no surprise as Davis won a national championship and was the consensus national player of the year when he played there in 2012. Since then he went on to become the first overall pick in the NBA draft, selected to the All Rookie Team and was a selected as an NBA All Star this past season.
Roster merges a variety of talent
This year’s roster will bring together talent from across Idaho and Montana to form a balanced, potent and intelligent team. You can click on each name to get a complete player profile.
[table “” not found /]This past season, Gonzalez was a first team all state player and currently holds offers from Eastern Washington and Idaho State. Tinkle was selected the Montana Gatorade Player of the Year and has offers from Utah, USC and Boston College. He, along with Manuel and Samuelson were also named to the first team all state in Montana.
Upcoming Schedule
The Anthony Davis Select team will hold a mini-camp in eastern Idaho the weekend of April 18-19. Please note that in order to reduce confusion with college recruiting, this team will be listed on schedules as “Anthony Davis – Idaho Select 17U”. Here is their tournament schedule:
- April 25-27 – Pangos Spring Spectacular, Las Vegas, NV
- May 9-11 – Northwest Premier Invitational, Boise, ID
- June – will likely play in one non-NCAA sanctioned event
- July 11-13 – NW Premier Summer Showcase, Bellevue, WA
- July 16-20 – Best of the Summer, Anaheim, CA
- July 23-27 – TBD, Las Vegas, NV
Would you like to play for Anthony Davis Select and Idaho Select?
This summer we will have 4-6 teams that will be playing in NCAA certified events during the July evaluation periods. The teams range from 15U-17U and any player with at least one year of eligibility is welcome to tryout.
This summer’s tryout will be on May 2-3 at Mountain View High School. It will coincide with the Transition Hoops Showcase, so players will not only be able to tryout but will also get the opportunity to play in front of college recruiters.
