This weekend the Idaho Select spring mini-camp is taking place at the College of Idaho. Six Idaho Select teams, ranging from 14U to 17U will come together from all over the northwest to build chemistry, learn their team’s offense and defensive systems and prepare for the spring season. It kind of marks the beginning of spring for Idaho Select.
So as the players and coaches move forward, here is a look back at the past school season and how our guys did this previous winter. These are players and coaches that were with Idaho Select in 2014’s spring and/or summer seasons.
Team Accomplishments
State Championships
Kendal Manuel and his Billings-Skyview team won the Montana Class AA state tournament.
Tre’von Allen, Jett Sobotta and Davian Sobotta led Clarkston High School to the Washington 2A state championship.
Con Bauer led his South Fremont team to an Idaho Class 3A state title.
Connor Burkhart repeated as a state champion, leading his Firth HS team to the Idaho Class 2A state title.
Collin Achenbach, Derrek Durocher and Dylan Pannabecker teamed up for an undefeated season at Choteau and a Montana Class B state title.
Jake Bruner and Prairie HS repeated as state champions, bring home the Idaho 1AD1 state title.
State Tournaments
Jared Samuelson and his Billings-West team made it to the championship game of the Montana Class AA tournament.
Stefan Gonzalez, Brayden West and Jawan Frazier made it to the championship game of the Idaho Class 5A tournament.
Justin Saunders helped Capital win the third place game at the Idaho Class 5A tournament.
Tres Tinkle and Rhett Baerlocher helped Hellgate HS win the third place game in the Montana Class AA tournament.
Logan Skurdal and Treighton Shepherd led Rocky Mountain HS to the consolation championship at the Idaho Class 5A tournament.
Brendan Howard and Great Falls High School qualified for the Montana Class AA tournament and got a first round win.

Tanner Wilson and Polson qualified for the Montana Class A tournament.
Hayden Eckert, Michael Lively and Kasey Crossland all helped Buhl get to the Idaho Class 3A state title game.
Carter Cannon and Shelley High School won third place at the Idaho Class 3A tournament.
Michael Wilson and Grangeville HS qualified for the Idaho Class 2A tournament.
Individual Recognition
For the second year in a row, Montana’s Tres Tinkle from Hellgate was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Montana. He was also selected to the Montana Class AA All Tournament Team.
In Idaho, Stefan Gonzalez was selected as the Gatorade Player of the Year for Idaho. He was also selected as the Idaho 5A Player of the year.
Kendal Manuel from Billings-Skyview was selected the Class AA Tournament MVP.
Rocky Mountain’s Logan Skurdal was selected to the Idaho 5A Second Team All State.
Tre’von Allen from Clarkston was named the Great Northern League MVP in Washington as well as First Team All State for the 2A Classification.
Hellgate’s Rhett Baerlocher was selected to Montana’s Class AA All Tournament Team.
Polson’s Tanner Wilson was a second team all-conference player in Montana.
Henry Geraci from Jackson Hole, Wyoming was selected to the Class 3A West All Conference Team.
South Fremont’s Con Bauer was selected the Idaho 3A Player of the Year. Hayden Eckert and Michael Lively from Buhl were selected to the First Team All State. Carter Cannon was selected to the Second Team All State.
Michael Wilson from Grangeville High School was chosen as the Idaho 2A Player of the Year. Connor Burkhart was selected to the Second Team All State.
Brandon Dall from LaGrande High School was named the Greater Oregon League Player of the Year.
Jake Bruner from Prairie was selected the Idaho 1A Player of the Year.

College Level
Coach Ben Tucker and his Arizona Wildcats have advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight.
Drew Church and the Lewis Clark State College Warriors won the Frontier Conference Championship and advanced to the NAIA Division I National Tournament.
Colby Blaine and the College of Idaho won the Cascade Conference Championship and then advanced all the way to the Elite Eight of the NAIA Division II National Tournament. They finished ranked #6 in the country.
Mitch Bruneel ended his college career at Utah Valley by finishing on the leader board in several of the Western Athletic Conference’s (WAC) categories including 14th in scoring, 9th in rebounding, 4th in field goal percentage and 3rd in offensive rebounds per game.
Riley Bradshaw was a part of Montana’s trip to the Big Sky Tournament Championship Game including scoring 10 points in the first half.
Mogga Lado from Big Bend CC was selected to the Eastern Region NWAC Second Team. Teammate Connor Meyerhoeffer was named the Eastern Region Defensive Player of the Year.
