Teams return from successful weekend in Washington

During the first NCAA evaluation period, six Idaho Select teams traveled to Bellevue, Washington to compete in the NW Premier Spring Showcase hosted at Bellevue College. The teams competed well and left as better players and a better understanding with what they need to do to improve.

How they did

Idaho Select Black 17U – the team went 3-1 on the weekend, winning their pool and qualifying for the top bracket. They lost a good battle to FOH Team LaVine and then won the consolation game over Washington Elite.

Idaho Select White 17U – the team went 4-1. They won their pool 2-0 and qualified for the second bracket. There they beat Team Jones Oregon and First Step Elite before falling to the FOH Red team in the championship.

Idaho Select Red 16U – Red won their pool and qualified for the top 16U bracket. In bracket play they beat FOH Blue and then Flite 16U before falling to a loaded ECBA 16U team in the championship. They finished 4-1 on the weekend.

Idaho Select Blue 16U – Blue finished third in their pool and were placed in the second 16U bracket. In their first game they beat Washington Elite before falling to eventual champions Maeko. They finished 1-3.

Idaho Select Green 15U – Green finished third in their pool and moved on to the third 15U bracket. There they opened with a win over FOH Red and then lost to Oregon Swish.

Idaho Select Gold 14U – The Gold was down to 6 players by the end of the weekend. They finished third in their pool and in the third bracket they got wins over Drive Bounce and FOH Red before losing to Team ACCESS in the championship.

What’s Next

Next up for all the Idaho Select teams is a trip to Las Vegas for the next NCAA evaluation period, April 24-26. The 15U-17U teams will be competing at the Double Pump Spring Classic while the 14U team will compete at the Big Foot Hoops Grand Opening.

Then the teams will all compete at the Northwest Premier Invitational on May 8-10 in Boise, ID. The tournament features over 100 teams from Washington, California, Oregon, Montana, Utah, Alaska and Idaho. Click here to learn more about the tournament.
