Have you had a chance to check out the field from this year’s Nike EYBL?

Once again the EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League) is loaded with 40 of the top Nike programs from around the country. They will compete during four weekends in April and May. The top teams will qualify for the Peach Jam, the Nike EYBL Finals in North Augusta, South Carolina during the first NCAA evaluation period of the summer, July 12-16.

A couple of notable things to point out

There is a new team from the Northwest competing this year. While we’ve grown used to seeing Seattle Rotary in the EYBL, the Portland Basketball Club will make its debut. PBC had a loaded roster this past year including top ranked player Kamaka Hepa (@kamaka_hepa4).

Also, with the Peach Jam happening during the first evaluation period, this will free up Nike teams for an additional weekend in the summer. While most of them will likely converge in Las Vegas at the Big Foot Hoops tourney during the third evaluation period (or skip the last weekend altogether) like they did last year, it will be interesting to see what they end up doing the second weekend. As of this post, most had not published their schedules for 2017.
