Select players have tipped off the season in the biggest way

High school season tipped off last week, and it did not disappoint. From 40-point explosions to game winners to what might be the basket of the year, our players came out swinging. Let’s dive into this week’s headlines.

This Week’s Headlines

Jaylen McLaughlin (Bothell): Dropped 40 points and hit the game winner in Bothell’s season opener. Source

Kasen Bryce (Preston): Scored 31 points in Preston’s season opener and made what may be the basket of the year—ridiculously athletic! Source | Basket

Orland Axton (Central Valley): Led Central Valley to a season-opening win with 27 points. Source

Karson Maze (Mead): Scored 28 points in a tough loss to Lake City, where Jordan Carlson put up 24 points to secure the win. Source

Peyton Hinthorn (Bonners Ferry): Scored 28 points to lead Bonners Ferry to a win. Later in the week, Hinthorn added another 27-point performance. Source

Logan Roos (Sandpoint): Scored 19 points while Knox Williams contributed 14 points behind 4 three-pointers in Sandpoint’s season-opening win over Bonners Ferry. Source

Josiah Lake II (Oregon State): Recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds in Oregon State’s win. Source

JJ Yearout (St. Maries): Scored 27 points with 7 rebounds for St. Maries. Source

Ethan Harris vs. Jaden Ghoreishi: What a game! Ethan Harris scored 36 points, but Jaden Ghoreishi’s 31 points sealed the overtime win. Source

Jackson Rasmussen (Idaho): Contributed 15 points alongside Jack Payne’s 14 as the Vandals defeated South Dakota State. Source

Jordan Carlson (Lake City): Scored 25 points along with Josh Watson’s 20, but it was Rocky’s Tanner Sweaney (21 points) and Brock Stevens (19 points) that led to the win. Source

Nathan Tweit (Kendrick): Led Kendrick to a win with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Source

Logan Iverson (Sandpoint): Went off for 31 points including 8 three-pointers in Sandpoint’s win over St. Maries. Source

Connor Carver (Post Falls): Grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Post Falls to a win. Source
