Here are some updates on Idaho Select players that are competing at the college level and how the Idaho Select college impact is helping college teams this season.
The Freshmen Impact
There are several Idaho Select players that are having an impact with their new college teams. Currently, eleven Idaho Select players are freshmen on their college rosters (information as of 11/26/15). And while some are developing through a redshirt season, others are seeing significant time on the floor.
McKay Cannon – Cannon has worked his way in to the Weber State (NCAA DI) starting line up, starting 3 of their 5 games. They recently won the Gulf Coast Showcase Championship. He is averaging 6.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
Tres Tinkle – Played in all five games for the Oregon State Beavers (NCAA DI) and is averaging 10.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Those numbers rank him third on the team in each category.
Stefan Gonzalez – Has played in all three games for the St. Mary’s Gaels (NCAA DI) and is averaging 7.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.
Rhett Baerlocher – Has seen action in all five games for Saint Martins (NCAA DII) including 10 points and 4 rebounds vs. Warner Pacific
Logan Skurdal – Has started all 5 games for the Embry Riddle Eagles (NAIA) (compiled stats not available)
Con Bauer – Has played in 5 of 6 games for the College of Southern Idaho (NJCAA) averaging 4.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
Kendal Manuel – Oregon State University (NCAA DI)
Jared Samuelson – University of Montana (NCAA DI)
Cody Spjute – Boise State University (NCAA DI)
Nate Bruneel – Snow College (NJCAA)
Keegan Hansen – North Idaho College (NJCAA)
Beyond the first year
Freshmen are not the only Idaho Select players that are helping their college teams. These veterans are also having an impact at the college level.
Joey Nebeker – Nebeker is off to a fast start in his junior year for the College of Idaho (NAIA). In eight games for the Yotes he’s averaging 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He’s already posted four 20+ point games and two 30+ point games and has been selected as a Cascade Conference Player of the Week.
Jake Hollifield – The Carroll College (NAIA) senior is averaging 8.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
Riley Bradshaw – Has started 2 of 4 games for the University of Montana (NCAA DI)
Chase Walker – Has started all 3 games for Linfield College (NCAA DIII) as a sophomore.
